Notes
RNA carries Adenine which pairs with U. But C and G are the same. RNA is also one strand. RNA carries the instructions from the DNA to build proteins. This is called transcription, when the RNA gets the message from the DNA. mRNA carries messages to the organelle Ribosomes which manufacture the proteins. However, Ribosomes cannot read these 'messages' and they need tRNA or transfer RNA to read them. This is translation, when the tRNA and the Ribosomes work together to get the code from the RNA. The ribosomes are made of rRNA which is ribosomal RNA and this is the most common type of RNA. Certain viruses carry only RNA so that they can replicate. RNA world was a long time ago when most land life-forms were based on RNA. These organisms evolved into the common organisms that are based on DNA. All of this produces proteins.
